DUBAI – Indian actors Katrina Kaif and Vicky Kaushal have officially revealed that they are expecting their first child.
The Bollywood power couple took to Instagram to share the long-awaited news on Tuesday, delighting fans across the globe.
Katrina posted a polaroid image where she was seen cradling her baby bump while standing alongside Vicky. The touching caption read, “On our way to start the best chapter of our lives with hearts full of joy and gratitude.”
Fellow actress Sonam Kapoor was among the first to respond, leaving a string of red hearts under the post. Fans also poured into the comments section with celebratory notes, calling Katrina “the prettiest mom-to-be” and expressing excitement for the couple’s new journey.
Katrina and Vicky’s romance
The romance between Katrina and Vicky began discreetly, away from the media spotlight. Rumours first emerged in 2019 after they were spotted together at several events. Their connection gained momentum when Katrina mentioned on Koffee with Karan that she thought she and Vicky would look good together on screen. In a later episode, Vicky’s dramatic reaction to her remark fuelled public speculation, creating one of Bollywood’s most talked-about moments.
Despite the growing buzz, the couple managed to shield their relationship from constant media scrutiny. Reports of a secret engagement in 2021 intensified the curiosity, but neither confirmed the news.
Finally, in December 2021, they married in a private ceremony at Six Senses Fort Barwara in Rajasthan. With only close family and friends present, their wedding became one of Bollywood’s most memorable celebrations.
Since their marriage, Katrina and Vicky have balanced personal and professional commitments, frequently supporting each other at film events and family gatherings. Now, with the announcement of their first child, they step into a new chapter of their lives.
Vicky most recently appeared in the period drama "Chhaava" and is set to feature in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Love and War alongside Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt.
